Case Study:
"Clover" is an eight-year-old domestic goose who
lives on a farm with a loving family of people and geese.
She came to AEC after a mysterious traumatic event that caused
remarkable swelling under her chin, puncture wounds on her
face, and a bleeding ruptured eardrum. We cleaned up her wounds,
prescribed antibiotics and pain medication, and recommended
special home nursing care. Her family provided a clean, warm,
dry, well bedded pen inside the barn, medicated her wounds,
and ensured she ate and drank well during the healing period.
After about two and one-half weeks the wounds were well healed,
so we discontinued her medications and her flock welcomed
her back with open wings.
